We had a great time here at the Meier Doll House. We enjoyed the fishing & just getting away for a bit. Thanks for the Fishing tips, I feel a little more knowledgable, Thanks to your expertise. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & appreciate your hospitality.

THE DOLLHOUSE

We came here just to rest.
And try to get away.
From all those little things.
That bug us everyday.

What a nice surprise.
It sure was a delight.
Like watching moonlight dance.
On the water after night.

Or the swans in the morning.
And the cooling summer breeze.
Or Cricket pleading with her eyes.
‘Won’t you pet me please”

The Meier’s were so gracious.
Everything was fine.
So we’ll take our memories with us.

We had such a wonderful time! It was so relaxing to sit outside and enjoy the water, as well as taking rides around the lake on the pontoon. Kyler enjoyed the big yard… running around and playing! We will definitely keep this place in mind for future vacations.

What a great time we’ve had!! It was very enjoyable, relaxing (even when chasing Scott & Kyler around) & wonderful memories of coming up here with our family & our Grandchildren. The fishing was so good that Rob & Tom even stayed out till 5am fishing. We’ll definitely tell others about this great place & what wonderful hosts you were. Jacqueline thanks for bringing the movies over for the kids the day it was raining, they loved it & so did we because they all fell asleep & actually napped that day!! Thanks again for everything. Thanks for providing us with hook-ups for the motor home it was nice to be able to have it up here too!

We have had a lot of fun this week. Everyone has enjoyed fishing, swimming & relaxing. We were very impressed with the Doll House, the lake & most of all the Meier Family. They were wonderful hosts. (Thank you Dave for sharing your fish with us. Thank you Jacqueline for the warm welcome & Thank you Aleasha for pulling us off the lake when the pontoon wouldn’t start for us.) We really enjoyed Cricket’s company & we loved watching the swans, ducks and other birds on & around the lake. We also had blast fishing! Thanks again for all your hospitality. The Doll House is beautiful & we will remember it for future get-a-ways!

Well, here we are again, enjoying your hospitality in the Dollhouse. Cricket has been well behaved & Bubba has enjoyed playing with Cricket. Bubba said to thank you for his penguin toy & his candy. There has been definite peace & quiet (except for the duck wake-up calls in the morning.) Hope you guy’s got some enjoyment from your vacation!

Can’t thank you enough for your hospitality! The fishing wasn’t the greatest but we did have enough for a fish fry, which we all enjoyed. The weather has been crazy. 90’s when we got here and only 60’s toady one week later. We have enjoyed the wildlife. Seen deer feeding along the bank, ducks, frogs, all types of birds and I got the chance to see & hand feed the family of swans! Mom and I also read through the cookbooks and have taken some recipes from your Mothers Memory Cookbook to try. I’m sure they will be great! Thanks again for sharing your Dollhouse and of course Cricket!

We’ve enjoyed our stay here and have been impressed with our accommodations. Our objective was a change of pace and relaxation, and your cottage provided everything we needed. No keepers this week, however we were privy to watching a family of swans venture out onto the lake a beautiful sight to see. And our son stopped by one evening and caught/released a nice bass, It’s been fun getting acquainted with Dave & Cricket especially watching Cricket wait patiently on the neighbors front porch for her daily dog biscuit treat! We will definitely keep the Dollhouse in mind for next year’s retreat. Thank you for your hospitality!

Back again… great place for the much-needed rest from our daily life. Spending time with Cricket… Brought my mother along this time. Wanted to spend some time with her and she needed a little something different in her life. She thinks it is a little too quiet here, but not a bad thing. She is used to 3 little kids around her a lot of the time. Mostly very beautiful weather here for the days we were here. Temps in the 70’s. Little rain Thursday. I love the Meier Doll House.

We enjoyed our stay! This is our 2nd visit to the house and this time we brought back the kids. Everyone had a great time fishing, going on the Jet Ski, badminton & making Smores by the campfire. The first few days just around 70 or so… no rain! We had no luck fishing even though we were out all the time. Everyone still had a great time… we’ll be back! Thanks Again.

My husband and I enjoyed this Perfect Weekend. It is spring and all is so green and in bloom. The fishing was so much fun! Big ones too! The Meier’s really have the best little secret here. This house is so cute and clean. The location is outstanding. We plan to come again and again.

What a beautiful dollhouse! Everything we needed was here…including our host near by. We had a wonderful visit and today being our 35th anniversary, we go home to Elkhart, happy. You have a beautiful place here for a quiet vacation! The fishing was good – caught a few 16” Bass & even a couple of 18” Bass. Although the mosquitoes tried to get the best of us, we enjoyed ourselves & will be looking forward to booking for next spring & fall!

August 29^th – September 3^rd  

My family and I enjoyed this week so much, that we plan on having our 10^th Wedding Anniversary celebrated here!

My son who will be 4 in October caught so many Bluegills that he got tired of reeling them in! I myself caught Keeper Bass (14” or larger) EVERYDAY!! On my last day on the lake I caught several of these size of Large Mouth Bass including the largest Black Crappie I have ever caught!

 My wife loved the house and the pontoon boat as well as the fishing. We all loved “Cricket” who greeted us at our arrival. There are just too many experiences to write down.

 WE WILL BE BACK SOON!!

We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation! It’s so peaceful here. My 13 yr old really just got into fishing this year and his only goal was to catch a Large Mouth Bass and he did. Only it was 1 inch to small for a keeper. But he was thrilled & as he put it “My vacation is now complete” Thanks; goes to Dave for fixing his pole up.

My husband got his Jet Ski in the water for the 1^st time in about 4 years. He was so happy. Me I just laid around & read “Romance Novels” as my husband says. I loved it!

The house is great. Very nice, Needs nothing that I could see. 1^st ones to use the new DVD/VCR player. Dave tried to ride Bill’s Jet Ski, but it was full of water. Maybe next time.

07/11/04 to 07/25/04 Two-Week Stay…

“Back home again in Indiana” It’s been a special 2-weeks, beginning with a reunion picnic with family at the lodge in Bluffton, State Park. Barbecues & Fish fry (Thanks to Dave who shared his catch with us.) With family here at the lake. A memorable reunion with a friend I hadn’t seen for 50 years.

Side trips to Winona Lake to Billy Sunday’s home, museum, shops & dinner at the Boat House Restaurant. A morning in Mentone, “The egg capital of the nation” to see Roto Planes at their annual fly-in. Fishing on the pontoon boat w/my brothers. A dramatic thunderstorm one evening with a lighting show that reminded me of the finale of the fireworks on the 4^th of July. It was both exciting & a little frightening, all at the same time!

 Your cottage has been most comfortable & the air conditioner most appreciated during a couple when the temperature soared. I loved having my coffee on the pontoon in the mornings & watching the wonderful assortment of birds you have here that we don’t see in San Diego. Bob enjoyed his morning golf games at Rochester & just relaxing in your peaceful surroundings here. Thanks Dave for making our time here at your “Doll House” so special.

07/03/04 to 07/11/04

We arrived on the 3^rd of July – Warm welcome by our host – Dave Meier – Nice place.

We were impressed with the house and yard. Our cell phones do not work here – Rain, but on a better note – Our son did catch a nice Bass first thing this morning. – July 4^th, we are looking forward to better weather and the rest of our family coming today.

Part of our family has arrived. We had a good day! The guys fish a little, took a couple of boat rides, Weather is great, looking forward to tomorrow. July 5^th – Another Great Day, the kids are having a great time.

Time is here to go home already. Weather was good. The house was great. I’m sure part of our family enjoyed their time here! The other part of our family didn’t show. Little League All Stars kept them from coming. Thanks for sharing your rental, it was fun.

6/25/04 to 6/27/04

Our anniversary too! Fourteen years. I’m glad we were able to find such a nice place to come to. Much better than camping! Beautiful cabin & decorated real nice. It was nice to meet David and his dog Cricket. (I think Cricket is spoiled but that’s okay!) We never met the rest of the family. Only four fish but it was still nice to be out in the boat & on the water.

We had a nice time. It is apparent that the Meier Family enjoy having this cabin because of all the care that was put into this place. The bird feeders & humming bird feeder are a wonderful touch. Hope we can come back sometime! Thanks so much!

The cabin is lovely and we had a great 3 days. We had lots of fun fishing for bluegills and crappies, although we did not catch anything. We met lots of nice people on our walks, especially the Jones, who came to the rescue for the girls and gave them speed boat rides and jet ski rides.

The girls enjoyed playing games with Aleasha along with the kittens and Cricket. Also watching the birds was great. We will tell our friends and family about this place,

We’ve had a wonderful time! The fishing was fantastic: 14 keeper bass, 22 keeper bluegills, and many more! The house is very comfortable and homey. Wow, we were your first guests! We had a wonderful time. For our 28^th anniversary getaway. The fishing was great and so was the relaxed atmosphere. Everything we needed and more was supplied. The Meier Family was spectacular hosts and very kind people. You have a beautiful place here that will thrive for many years to come.
